Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC)As a part of ongoing enhancement to the Special Collections Database, DGI was contracted to provide name and subject authority control for the terms housed in the Special Collections Database. In addition DGI contributed new Name Authority records to NACO based on information received from institutions listed in the Special Collections Database. | NACO - Program for Cooperative CatalogingDGI is one of a small number of commercial vendors authorized to input records into the Library of Congress Name Authority File. In that capacity, DGI has supported the American Antiquarian Society in the input of over 12,000 Name Authority records into the Library of Congress Name Authority File. These names were identified by AAS staff during its North American Imprints program. The new Name records were created in preparation for the migration of the AAS catalog to a new integrated library management system. As part of its range of services for PCIP clients and vendors, DGI creates authority records for many of the headings included in the records it supplies.
